Wow! What a weekend! We’re all still recovering from the business of the past few days, but we wanted to thank everyone who attended both the Vermont Mountain Bike Festival in Waterbury and our own Demo Day here at Skiershop. Weather was perfect and everyone seemed to be enjoying the opportunity to try some awesome new bikes on a great trail network. If you weren’t able to make it to the Skiershop/Bike Stowe Demo Day or the Vermont Mountain Bike Festival, don’t fret. We’ve got you covered with tons of pictures, reviews, and of course of own fleet of demo bikes. Check out all the pictures and keep an eye on BikeStowe.com for more coverage from the event!
- Vendors and riders setting up and showing up Saturday morning!
- Stowe Mountain Bike Club manning the registration tent!
- As usual, Giant stole the show as far as display, amount of bikes, and general enthusiasm.
- Look at all those bikes!
- Giant did an awesome job naming their demo bikes this year… girls bikes get guys names and vice versa.
- Best name for a bike ever? Especially a women’s bike… what lady doesn’t want to ride Chuck Norris?
- I had a bit of a crush on Linda…
- Our friends from Poc and Smith – I spy a Scott, Smith, and Poc rep all under one tent. What’s going on here?
- Xprezo had a colorful display of demo bikes
- We shared a tent with Scott Bikes. We were right next to Giant, which gave that corner of the festival a distinct “Skiershop” feel
- Brand New Intense Carbine Demo Bike! Come try it at Skiershop today!
- Another brand new demo bike – Intense Spider 29
- Giant has a nice display of Schwalbe rubber
- We brought a customer’s custom Hard Eddy to show off to the crowd. We did a specific post about this bike, and have had some questions about weight. This bike built up how it is (which is super burly) weighs in at 26 lbs. Our bike builders could easily get this number down a few pounds with a lighter build.
As you may have noticed, I took a Rocky Mountain Slayer out for a ride here on the local Cady Hill Trails. Look for a full review of this bike coming soon, including opinions of multiple Skiershop/Bike Stowe employees, as a few of us took turns on this bad boy. As always, make sure you come stop by the shop to check out what’s new! We’ve been putting together some really impressive bikes lately and are getting new gear in the shop weekly, come check it out! Also, don’t forget about the women’s only group ride tomorrow at 6PM and the open group ride Friday at 6PM.
